Barclays debut sterling green deal pushes European banks to record green bon issuance this year. Despite banks curtailing overall funding, they have sold a record €19bn of green bonds this year. The surge in green bonds is driven by two primary factors, including: continuously increasing investor demand for environmentally friendly investments and low-cost central bank funding for green bonds.
