AlpInvest, a subsidiary of The Carlyle Group, secured an ESG-linked credit facility for its private equity co-investment fund. This is the first in the market to tie financing terms to sustainability aspects of a fund’s operations. The facility is linked to the operations of the fund through measurable performance indicators that are directly tied to the interest margin, like investment process, engagement activity, and transparency. These KPIs will provide an effective incentive to identify sustainability-linked risks and value creation opportunities.
