Our SMARTER discussion features Sean Kidney, the co-founder and CEO of the Climate Bonds Initiative, an international NGO working to mobilise debt capital markets for climate solutions. Sean focuses on promoting investment priorities for climate and green bonds, how governments can take advantage of the green bonds market and the development of international collaborations. He also acts as chair of the Climate Bond Standards Board (members represent $34 trillion of assets under management). Sean Kidney is an advisor to the EU Technical Expert Group on Sustainable Finance EU taxonomy – a tool to determine whether an economic activity is environmentally sustainable. The EU Taxonomy is one of the most significant developments in sustainable finance and will have wide ranging implications for investors and issuers working in the EU, and beyond.

In addition, we present the EU Horizon 2020 SMARTER project and feature its European Advisory Board, introducing good practice within the theme of “Green Swans – 5 Pillars of Banking for addressed by Green Homes and Green Mortgage programs:  Client Acquisition,  Governance, Enterprise Strategy and Planning, Risk Management and Financial Disclosure”presented by Ted Kronmiller . Finally, there would be an introduction to the “Green Homes Investment Platform” by Aristeidis Tsakiris

The project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under Grant Agreement No. 847141.
