Senior Advisor on Energy Efficiency

Andrea Viviana Heins has been working on energy efficiency for more than 25 years. During the last few years, she worked as a consultant on energy efficiency for international organizations such as the World Bank, IADB, and C40, and for international companies, working for different countries in LAC and MENA regions. In this role, she participated in different projects related to energy efficiency in buildings and industrial sectors, as well as in public policy development. She also was the chair of the Argentinian Committee of the World Energy Council.

Between 2015 and 2018 she was the Undersecretary of Energy Efficiency and Savings at the Argentinian Ministry of Energy and Mining. In that position she was the focal point of the Ministry in the National Cabinet of Climate Change, the vice-chair of the Energy Transitions Working Group under G20 Argentina’s Presidency – where she had the opportunity to co-lead the discussion with G20 countries of the Minister’s Communique-, and the co-chair of the Executive Committee of IPEEC.

Before that, she worked for the industrial sector as a consultant and as part of the Argentinian oil and gas company.

She has a Chemical Engineer degree and a postgraduate degree in petroleum, both from the University of Buenos Aires.
