The Luxembourg Green Exchange (‘LGX’) was launched in 2016 in direct response to the increasing preference for green bonds and growth in sustainable finance. The LGX has taken roles in developing sustainable finance by creating a clear linkage between capital markets and the real economy as well as facilitating integrated capital markets through liquidity, transparency, efficiency and cross-border cooperation. The LGX serves ambitious environmental goals set by:
- United Nations Sustainable Development Goals
- The Paris Agreement
- International Capital Markets Association (‘ICMA’) Green Bond Principles
- United Nations Sustainable Stock Exchange Initiatives
