JSC TBC Bank (‘TBC Bank’), a subsidiary of TBC Bank Group PLC, has received accreditation by the Green Climate Fund (‘GCF’). The GCF accreditation makes TBC Bank a GCF ‘Accredited Entity’ with direct access to GCF funding to finance projects for climate change mitigation and adaptation while taking a lead role in supporting sustainable development in Georgia.
TBC Bank is the first commercial bank in Georgia and the entire Caucasus region to receive such accreditation. The bank is one of ten companies globally to receive the designation from the GCF.
GCF supports developing countries in their climate change mitigation endeavors and advances their efforts to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. GCF stimulates the flow of climate finance to invest in low-emission and climate-resilient development, through its Accredited Entities. GCF is a global fund created by the 194 signatories to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in 2010.
