The sustainable debt market has continued to grow amid global economic turbulence. 2021 is expected to bring continued growth of sustainable use-of-proceeds bonds with issuance expected to surpass €585bn. Growth in sustainability-linked instruments with financing rates as a function of predetermined metrics, including science-based climate targets is expected. Issuers across sectors are tying financing rates to alignment with policy initiatives including U.N. Sustainable Development Goals.
