Emerging markets from Poland to Pakistan are looking to issue nature-linked bonds while working with the World Bank and major sovereign creditors to create sustainable debt and target biodiversity and carbon emissions. The move is viewed as an opportunity to align sovereign debt relief with nature and climate outcomes. Borrowers might even be able to pay back portions of debt using carbon credits.
