Kenya has turned to investors to participate in new green bond and finance activities. The country has the world’s first Green D-REIT that encompasses green housing projects. The country also boasts the large number of impact investors in their housing markets. Acorn Holdings raised €34.3mn to build sustainable student accommodation units in the country with the first green bond offering in the nation. Proceeds raised from other green bonds will fund climate adaptation and emissions reductions projects.
