Deloitte, Hibernia REIT, Lloyds Banking Group, Mace, and Watkins Payne Partnership have each signed the WorldGBC’s Net Zero Carbon Buildings Commitment to decarbonize the built environment and combat climate change. The Commitment now has 138 signatories with 104 business (accounting for over 5.1mn tC02e portfolio emissions), 28 cities, and 6 states/regions. Signatories are tackling operational emissions from real estate assets by stimulating innovative approaches, solutions, and business models so the sector can reach 2050 goals. The commitment is to achieve an operationally net zero carbon portfolio by 2030 and demonstrate annual progress via reporting and verification protocols.
