Investors are encouraged to enhance their capabilities related to the management and disclosure of ESG risks. Impending policies including the Sustainability-Related Disclosures in the Financial Services Sector (Regulation (EU) 2019/2088) and the “Taxonomy Regulation”, i.e. Establishment of a Framework to Facilitate Sustainable Investment (Regulation (EU) 2020/852) seek to mobilize capital towards sustainable investments yet also require financial market participants to disclose specific information about the environmental and climate impact of their investments and make it imperative that sustainability-related risks are integrated into their strategic risk management frameworks.
