Steven has assisted the development of eight Green Building Councils in Europe, served as the elected Chair of the Europe Green Building Council Network’s Education Taskforce, and led a successful campaign to promote the Living Building Challenge in Europe as well as other deep green initiatives.
He led the development of the RoGBC’s a “Green Homes & Green Mortgage” program performance verification and discounted interest rates for environmentally-responsible, energy-efficient, safe, high-quality and healthy homes. This program is now expanding with the support of a European Commission Horizon 2020 grant to 11 new countries. He is participating as an expert in the European Commission & United Nation Environment Programme’s “Energy Efficiency – Financial Institutions Group” to obtain actionable data and explore the relationship of risk to financing green versus non-green building projects.
