Mark Lister

Senior Advisor, Global Energy Efficiency Accelerator Platform

Mark Lister has a diverse background in sustainability, finance and energy policy. After starting out in corporate banking Mark specialised in clean energy and energy efficiency issues and became a leading Australian energy efficiency advocate, working for both public and private sector entities. He founded cross-sectoral NGO the Australian Alliance to Save Energy, has worked on grassroots efficiency and renewables projects in sub-Saharan Africa, and has taught postgraduate sustainable energy courses. After four years in the Philippines with ADB working to facilitate and scale up climate technology and energy efficiency investments for countries in the Asia-Pacific region, Mark is now based at the Copenhagen Centre on Energy Efficiency, where he leads the Secretariat for the Global Energy Efficiency Accelerator Platform. The Platform is a flagship initiative of the UN-led Sustainable Energy for All Partnership which aims to connect city and country governments with private sector delivery partners and financiers to double the rate of global energy efficiency improvement by 2030.
