Teaching Assistant and Doctoral Candidate at the Polytechnical School of the Université Libre de Bruxelles, Camilo Paez is an Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Construction expert. He is an architect and urbanist and is currently a researcher in built environment topics. His PhD research addresses the alignment of buildings’ environmental impact assessment systems with the EU Level(s) framework, and it focuses on integrating energy performance indicators in the early design phases, considering digital tools and collaborative processes.
He has specialised since 2007 in the implementation of the Passive House standard in housing and educational projects. He also carried out holistic evaluations of buildings’ sustainability, working as an expert in the Exemplary Buildings programme of Brussels Capital Region. These experiences are now complemented with his participation in European research projects embracing the topics of Energy Efficiency, EU policy and Green Finance.
