Alessandra Luna-Navarro is a post-doctoral research associate at the Faculty of Architecture and Built Environment in TU Delft. She was previously PhD researcher at the University of Cambridge. Alessandra is a chartered Building and Energy Engineer with CIBSE, specialised in Building Physics and digital tools for the built environment. She holds a master degree in Building Engineering and Architecture from La Sapienza University of Rome and a Master of Philosophy in Energy Technologies from the University of Cambridge. For her PhD research, she has been working with Arup, Permasteelisa and she has also been awarded with the Cambridge Trust European Award and the Future City fellowship. She has been an active member of the EU COST Action Adaptive Façade network and she is now involved in the IEA Annex 79 – Occupant-centric building design and operation. In her research, she is experimentally investigating the potential of occupant-centred, smart and automated buildings to enhance occupant satisfaction and productivity in the work environment.
