Scenario Analysis of Climate-Related Physical Risk for Buildings and Infrastructure: Financial Disclosure Guidelines and Climate Science Guidance

The Climate Measurement Standards Initiative (CMSI) has assessed a range of risks varying in frequency and magnitude related to climate-related physical risk of buildings and real estate portfolios. CMSI has developed scientific scenario specifications related to climate-related physical risk faced by buildings and recommended financial disclosure guidelines for insurance companies, banks and investors with portfolios backed by buildings. The Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) has developed a set of recommendations that companies can use to disclose such information about climate risks.
