Copenhagen Centre on Energy Efficiency conducted a webinar alongside Renewable Energy Policy Network for the 21st Century (REN21), to discuss the findings released in the latest Renewable 2015 Global Status Report and its relation to energy efficiency.
Hosted by The Clean Energy Solutions Center, in partnership with REN21, the webinar launched the new report as well as examined energy efficiency within European and North American renewable energy sectors. For instance, North America and Europe have experienced drops in energy intensity of 1.7% and 1.5% respectively, demonstrating the untapped energy efficiency potential.
The panelists of the webinar were Ksenia Petrichenko from C2E2 and Rana Adib from REN21.
Attended by more than 50 people, the participants of the webinar were able to hear about the new developments to improve energy efficiency in the renewables sector, as well as the challenges the sector faces. Presentations were followed by a question and answer session with the audience.
REN21’s Renewables Global Status Report (GSR), first released in 2005, provides a comprehensive and timely overview of renewable energy market, industry, investment and policy developments worldwide. The report is a collaborative effort of authors, REN21 Secretariat staff and Steering Committee members, and regional research partners, and includes the input of over 500 individual contributors and reviewers.
