Wendell Grinton is a Ph.D. student in Civil Engineering at Virginia Tech. His research tests the efficacy of different message designs (e.g. choice architecture, color, actionable recommendations), along with a plethora of qualitative and quantitative methods (e.g. fNIRS, semi-structured interviews, pre- and post-test experiments) to change energy-related behaviors. Through using different message designs and different qualitative and quantitative methodologies, he expectds to optimize quality of life and help consumers save energy and money.
