Sara Ballan Leads the Green Digital Business Line in the World Bank, Digital Transformation Vice Presidency. She helps countries expand digital access through resource-efficient digital investments, as well as effective use of digital technologies for green use cases.
Sara works across World Bank regions and was previously leading digital projects in the Africa region out of Nairobi. Prior to joining the Bank, Sara worked as COO in an AI-powered digital health company. She has also worked in the public sector and in the private sector, focusing on technology and innovation in emerging markets (mainly Asia and Africa). Sara has studied Political Science, Business, and Innovation at Copenhagen University, Copenhagen Business School, Stern Business School (NYU) and INSEAD.
