Energy Analyst and Policy Advisor

Nicholas is an applied economist with over 25 years of experience advising governments and businesses on energy and climate issues. Currently working in the Office of Energy Efficiency and Inclusive Transitions in the Energy Markets and Security Division of the International Energy Agency specialising in energy efficiency and demand, finance and investment and project management including three years leading the Agency’s flagship Energy Efficiency Market Report. Winner of international awards including for his work on carbon markets his research has informed decision-making at the G20 and United Nations as well as through direct work with governments in the UK, Europe, Australia, China and Saudi Arabia. His work also includes publications on the strategic importance of cooling as a driver of energy demand and the role of efficiency in balancing the sustainability challenge of staying cool in a hotter climate.
