Keren is a licensed and practicing energy auditor, a Certified Energy Manager, Certified Water Efficiency Professional, and a Certified Measurement and Verification Professional. She has wide experience in conducting energy audits in various sectors including manufacturing, power generation, hospitality, health, institutions of higher learning, floriculture, supermarkets, and commercial buildings. She has also been engaged in conducting surveys to assess the impact of energy management initiatives in Kenya.
Keren is also a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, Kenya. She has been with the institution for the last 28 years. She holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering awarded by the University of Cape Town in 2006. She also holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Electrical Engineering both awarded by the University of Nairobi. Her main research interests include power system stability, power economics, energy efficiency, renewable energy, and mini grid systems.
