Jorge Izquierdo Pérez is no longer employed with UNEP Copenhagen Climate Centre or UNEP DTU Partnership since 2020
Jorge is a sustainable energy and industrial engineer with a versatile background. His higher education began in the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), where he studied Industrial Engineering and forged his knowledge in a wide range of technical fields within engineering, operations, business and project management.
In 2017, he joined the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) through T.I.M.E.’s double-degree program, where he studied the MSc in Sustainable Energy. Here, he gave a focus to his career towards the wind energy, energy efficiency and energy markets fields.
He graduated from DTU in 2019 after handing in his MSc thesis, which he carried out in the company Floating Power Plant A/S, developing an energy and costs optimization model for the company’s floating hybrid wind-and-waves energy generation concept. His work allowed him to publish a scientific article January 2020 in MDPI on one of the topics he addresses in the thesis: “Layout optimization process to minimize the cost of energy of an offshore floating hybrid wind-wave farm”.
He is currently part of the C2E2 and, among other tasks, he is involved in technical assessment of district heating and energy efficiency projects in low and middle income countries.
