Elisabeth Resch

Senior Finance Advisor

Elisabeth Resch has more than eleven years of professional experience in sustainable finance and development consulting. After starting her career at the Inter-American Development Bank, where she sought to ensure the development impact of private sector investments, she moved to Oxford Policy Management, consulting clients – bilateral donors, development banks and charitable foundations – on topics such as sustainable development and climate finance. Amongst others, she served as a climate finance advisor to the UK-funded programme “Action on Climate Today”, advising governments on how to mainstream climate change into public budgets and planning. Based on this experience, she has presented at intergovernmental meetings, including UNFCCC, as a resource person.  As an Advisor to the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Board of Directors, she interacted with the Bank’s Management and its shareholders to ensure sustainability and alignment with the Paris Agreement in its activities.

At the UNEP Copenhagen Climate Centre, she advises Danish development finance institutions on climate risks and how to achieve a net-zero emission portfolio. Moreover, she is part of the finance expert pool of the NDC Action Project, which seeks to support the implementation of developing countries’ Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) with investment plans and financing strategies.

Elisabeth has Graduate degrees in International Relations & Economics and International Management from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration.
