As Sector Counsellor for Energy at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Denmark in Beijing, Allan Bertelsen’s primary responsibility is to facilitate the Strategic Sector Cooperation on energy and thereby strengthening the Sino-Danish knowledge transfer to overcome market and regulatory barriers in order to promote a green energy transition.
Prior to joining the embassy as a sector counsellor Allan specialised in the green transition at the Centre for Energy Efficiency at the Danish Energy Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Energy at the Government of Greenland and China National Renewable Energy Centre (now China Energy Transformation Programme).
Allan holds a double master’s in Public Management & Social Development and Management Science from Copenhagen Business School and the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, respectively. His thesis was an interdisciplinary study of the social implications of energy transition in China.
