Alexis Laurent is Associate Professor in Quantitative Assessment and Interpretation of Environmental Sustainability at DTU. His main research interests and expertise lie in (i) environmental sustainability assessment of large-scale systems, e.g. nations, sectors or cities, to support policy making; (ii) development of methods and indicators for gauging performances towards the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), (iii) method development and application of life cycle assessment to quantify environmental impacts of various products, technologies and systems in sectors of energy, waste management, transportation, etc. Since 2010, he has published over 50 scientific articles and co-authored 14 book chapters. He is also coordinator of the DTU courses on “Life Cycle Assessment of Products and Systems”, involving real-life case studies from industry, and “Sustainability Assessment and Communication”, involving assessment of project contributions towards the SDGs.
