This publication provides an overview of the current status of energy efficiency in the built environments of the Southeast Asian region, as of June 2013. Seven countries from the region, namely, Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam are included within the scope of this report.
A summary of country facts is followed by an overview of energy efficiency policies, initiatives and activities implemented in each country, such as supporting laws and regulations, fiscal initiatives as well as awareness programmes. This publication also details the major challenges to energy efficiency in the building sector as identified by each country, and some of the national plans and action plans devised to address these issues.
