The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Status Report

The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) region has vast renewable energy resources but the energy market to-date remains underdeveloped. REN21’s ECOWAS Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Status Report documents developments in the region, providing a regional perspective on the renewable energy and energy efficiency market and industry development across West Africa. The report details ECOWAS Member states’ commitment to developing renewable energy and energy efficiency by addressing current energy sector challenges while simultaneously building a resilient energy system. Sustained investment in the region’s renewables sector however is desperately needed.
