This document presents the successful case of the optimization of thermal power plants in residential buildings under the ESCO model. The ESCO (energy services company) Energy Traking has implemented an energy saving program in hot water and heating systems, called the Building Energy Program (BEP) currently under patent. Energy Traking through contributions from the IDB-MIF – through the “Clean Energy Opportunities Promotion Program” – executed by Fundación Chile, achieved annual savings of 25% in natural gas, annual savings of up to 10% in water consumption , a return on investment between one and two years, and a CO2 emission savings of 40 to 80 tons per year. The document explains the financial and technical details of the project.
