The Copenhagen Centre on Energy Efficiency works on building the evidence base for energy efficiency, transferring knowledge about best-practices to committed national and local governments, connecting partners and facilitating technical assistance that can help governments and local authorities to develop energy efficiency policy and initiatives that can attract finance and communicating those models and activities as widely as possible to speed the replication.
The main objective of the internship at the Copenhagen Centre is to contribute to development of the evidence base on city-level actions for energy efficiency improvement through development of a number of case-studies for energy efficiency best-practices. The key tasks to be accomplished during the internship:
1. Under supervision of the senior staff conduct desktop research and collect data for the selected cities on energy efficiency actions
2. Prepare brief written outputs for each of the selected cities in accordance with the template provided by the dedicated senior staff
3. Prepare any related visual products (charts, photos, infographics, etc.) to support the written outputs
4. Upload prepared case studies to the dedicated space at the Copenhagen Centre’s Knowledge Management System
Qualifications
The ideal candidate is a Master’s or PhD student or a young professional with a background in sustainable energy, urban planning, public policy or related field with basic understanding of energy efficiency policies, good writing skills and analytical abilities.
Conditions
This is an unpaid internship. The internship is to take place between August and December 2017. The intern will be provided with an office space at the UN City in Copenhagen and a supervisor from among the Copenhagen Centre’s staff.
