Energy Efficiency & Carbon Markets

Replacement of the old non-energy efficient technologies can potentially generate carbon savings that could then be transactioned in carbon markets. The potential to save greenhouse gases is large, especially in cooling technologies, by means of replacing high Global Warming Potential refrigerants with non-harmful ones.

The Copenhagen Centre on Energy Efficiency is working towards the abatement of emissions, especially in the cooling of buildings, by supporting governments to transition to sustainable cooling solutions, such as the replacement of HFCs and CFCs gases, introduction of heat pumps or through sustainable district cooling solutions.
