The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) Group of Experts on Energy Efficiency elected Tim Farrell from the Copenhagen Centre on Energy Efficiency (C2E2) as its first chair at its first session on 17-18 November 2014. The Chair provided introductory remarks and gave a keynote address on the role of the Global Energy Efficiency Accelerator Platform in increasing the uptake of energy efficiency. The UNECE facilitates greater economic integration and cooperation among its fifty-six member States and promotes sustainable development and economic prosperity.
‘The Expert Group on Energy Efficiency has enabled a strong collaboration to be built between the Copenhagen Centre on Energy Efficiency and UNECE member States as we work together to accelerate energy efficiency. I am looking forward to working with all 56 member States to increase the uptake of energy efficiency policies and best practices to help pursue SE4ALL’s goal of doubling the global rate of energy efficiency improvement by 2030’, remarked Tim Farrell.
